The manual presents information about the general embryology, human embryology, medical periodization of human embryo development, the processes preceding the embryonic development (ovo- and spermatogenesis), the main stages of embryonic development, characterizing the embryonic and fetal periods of development, describes histophysiology of the placenta and its pathology. Much attention is paid to the critical periods of human embryonic development and malformations associated with their disorders. The questions of histogenesis and organogenesis necessary for studying the basics of human embryology by medical students are considered in detail. The manual is provided with significant illustrative material and tasks for independent work of students. There is an embryological glossary, which contains the necessary terms for the successful assimilation of the material. The manual is intended for independent work of students of medical universities.
