The study aid covers the main sections of the material science course: the atomiccrystalline structure of metals, the basics of crystallization, state diagrams of alloys, as well as the main structural metals and alloys based on iron and non-ferrous metals. The possibility of changing the structure and properties of materials due to thermal and chemical-thermal treatment is shown. Much attention is paid to non-metallic materials that are used in industry. The study aid is intended for students of technical universities studying materials science, fracture mechanics of materials, methods of protecting materials from corrosion, and may be useful to graduate students and students of the Institute of Additional Professional Education.
